ReefRide started with three cars and a Google Sheet. We're a local team that thinks airport rentals shouldn't feel like a hostage negotiation — so we built the version we'd want our cousins flying in to use.

ReefRide started on Maui in 2024. After years of watching visitors overpay at airport counters — only to end up in scratched-up sedans with surprise fees on checkout — we decided there had to be a better way.
We started with three cars and a shared Google Sheet, and a simple promise: a clean, reliable vehicle waiting at the airport when you land — at a fair price, with zero hidden charges. Word spread fast, and what began as a side project between friends quickly became the go-to rental option across all four islands.

The price you see at search is the price on your card. No surprise insurance bumps, no resort fees, no airport-recovery surcharges. If we charge it, it’s on the booking page in plain English.
Every guest is treated like family flying in. Our support team lives across the islands; if something goes wrong, you’re talking to someone who knows the road you’re on.
We donate a portion of every booking to reef conservation programs across Hawaii. The ocean is our backyard — keeping it healthy isn’t optional for us.

Browse cars on your island, with photos, transparent total, and the host’s actual response rate. No bait-and-switch.
Your host meets you at the airport (or drops the car at your hotel / Airbnb). Five minutes from baggage claim to driver’s seat.
Live local. Roll into spots a tour bus can’t reach. Drop the car back the same way you got it.

Our fleet is maintained by local mechanics, our support team lives across Maui, Oahu, the Big Island, and Kauai, and we partner with small businesses for everything from detailing to roadside assistance. A portion of every booking funds reef conservation programs around the islands.
