Akaka Falls State Park
Driving Destination~1 hr 45 min from KonaWaterfallHikeScenic
A short, paved loop trail through dense tropical jungle leads to views of the 442-foot Akaka Falls — one of the tallest and most photogenic waterfalls in the state. The trail also passes the 100-foot Kahuna Falls and is lined with giant bamboo, ferns, and orchids.
Tip: The walk takes about 30 minutes. Arrive in the morning for the best light on the falls. Mosquito repellent is a must.
