A self-guided 10-mile walking and driving trail with 14 cultural and historical stops through Old Koloa Town and Poipu. Markers tell the story of Kauai's sugar plantation era, ancient Hawaiian fishponds, and the first successful sugar mill in Hawaii (1835). It is a fascinating deep dive into island history.
Tip: Pick up the free trail map at the Koloa History Center. The walk through Old Koloa Town takes about 45 minutes. Drive the rest to cover the coastal stops.
