The lush Iao Valley is home to the 1,200-foot Iao Needle, a green-mantled rock pinnacle rising from the valley floor. The paved walkway and botanical gardens make this one of Maui's easiest yet most dramatic natural attractions. It also holds deep cultural significance as a historic Hawaiian battleground.
Tip: Go early before the clouds roll in — the Needle is best photographed in morning light. Parking fills by 10 AM.
