Anti-fraud: rewards only fire when your invited host is genuinely new (no shared email or account), passes admin review, and brings a real guest booking. Self-invites and self-bookings don't count.
Common questions
Is this run by Airbnb or VRBO?
No. ReefRide is its own company. We just pay you a commission for sending your guests to a car rental service they were already going to use anyway.
Will I keep earning if my STR gets shut down?
Yes. Attribution is on the guest, not the property. Once you've referred someone to ReefRide, every future Hawaii car booking they ever make pays you — even if that booking is years from now and you're no longer in the STR business. Bill 9, Bill 90, and any future tightening don't touch this revenue stream, because you're not the lodging provider in the eyes of the platform — you're a referral partner who delivered a Hawaii-bound traveler.
Do my guests pay more because of my link?
No. The commission comes out of our cut, not the guest's bill. They see the same price whether they use your link or not.
How and when do I get paid?
Direct to your bank, through Stripe. The money is locked in the moment a guest's booking is paid. It unlocks 24 hours after the trip ends. Then we batch a payout to your bank every Monday.
What's the verification step?
The first time you go to withdraw, we ask you to forward one Airbnb or VRBO booking confirmation to a one-time email address. That proves you really are an Airbnb host. After that, every future payout is automatic.
Is there a cap on what I can earn?
No. As of July 2026 the caps are gone — you earn 10% of every referred booking, uncapped, with lifetime attribution: every booking your guest makes pays you, for life.
What's the bonus structure?
We deliberately put the money into commissions that keep paying rather than one-time bonuses. Founding 100 hosts (the first 100) earn a $50 bonus when their first referred guest completes a trip, and the $100/$50 invite stack rewards bringing another property host on board (up to 25 paid invites a year). Everything else is recurring: 10% on every referred booking, uncapped, plus 5% on every booking of a car you sponsor.
What if my guest cancels?
You earn on completed trips. If a booking is cancelled before the trip starts, the corresponding commission is removed — the same way the guest gets refunded.
How does link tracking and credit actually work?
Your link sets a 90-day cookie on the guest's device. The first host whose link a guest uses is credited for that guest for life (first touch wins), on whichever car they book. If a guest books on a different device and the credit looks missed, contact us and we'll reconcile it manually. Separately, if you sponsored the car itself, you earn 5% on every booking of that car regardless of who referred the guest (while the car stays listed in good standing and you remain an active Home Host) — and both credits stack when they're yours.
